Solid Chilled Rolls

Wakely mills are built using fluted solid chilled rolls which an integral part of our grain processing mills.

Solid chilled rolls are cast using a double pour technique; the final casting stage creates an extremely hard working surface to a depth of 25mm having being ‘chilled’.

Solid chilled rolls deliver long term solutions to the feed industry. The solid rolls allow for processing all grain types at the highest feed rates, no bowing or distortion of the rolls is possible.

The depth of hardness 50 – 53 HRC, allows for tens of thousands of tonnes of grain to be rolled over its lifetime, rolls are ‘hard as a file’

Depending on the application we can apply a range of roll fluting or corrugation solutions, depending on the application. Our fluting technology will increase the capacity of the milling operation by 15 – 20% when compared to rolls with a matt finish.

Wakely Engineering offer range for roll services such as roll grinding, journal replacement and bearing fitting for all types of industrial mills.

We match the finish on your rolls to your exact needs. We offer a complete range of finishes suitable for all types of production whether rolling, grinding or flaking grain.

The entire operation is completed in house using our dedicated equipment ensuring a prompt service to customers.

Rolls with a diameter of up to 600mm & a length 2000mm can be serviced.
