Owner of 1240 Mobile Crimper & Dry roller.

Allan offers a range of contracting services. “ I roll approximately 5,000 tonnes of grain for myself and Customers in the area. The majority would be Barley, though a fair amount of Wheat Beans and Oats”.

With the through-put Calculator & Control panel I can accurately measure the Machines output, The two operating handles allows me to adjust to sample to suit the grain I’m processing.” “Crimping hasn’t being as popular due to last summers hot weather, though the Wet crimping platform at the rear works well, I have space to operate the controls & store any material I might need” Im delighted with the machine, the rolls are still in top nick.

Superior Grain Services. Downpatrick Co Down, N. Ireland.

Owner of 1240 Mobile Crimper & Dry roller.

Based near Downpatirck But operating province wide, Richard Orr & Christopher Beattie offer a range of Contracting services, specializing in Grain harvesting & processing. Since purchasing the Wakely 1240 Mobile, Christopher and Richard have increased operational efficiency by 25%.

“Having a Mobile bruising service this past 5 years, we knew what to look for, Roll wear was a major concern, Skimming rolls several times a season wasnt an option, Some Farmers have a particular preference for a certain type of product sample, from flat rolled to a finely broken sample we wanted a machine capable of this” says Richard. “Service and back up things generally go wrong, when you have 500 tonnes to roll quickly, we wanted a well designed machine that would stand the test of time” says Christopher.

Richard & Christopher decided on a combination flute, this flute will process any combinable crop and produces a wide range of product samples simply by adjusting the Roll gap handle. To add more value to the service, Richard & Christopher machine was fitted with Rear double hopper mixing chambers, Hydraulic roll tension and pneumatic brakes as they service a wide area. “We received the machine just as the harvest was being brought in , It worked practically non stop for the first month, We get the job done sooner the way the customers want. We can now offer our customer a wider range of services with this machine, mixing in preservatives, minerals, protein; Molasses is easy with the Calculator and Rear mixing chambers, Says Richard.

Owner of 1240 Mobile Crimper & Dry roller.

Richard Lynch is an Agricultural contractor specializing in Grain Processing, He rolls several thousand tonnes a year within a 50km radius.

“To contract successfully I needed a machine that would process all grain types consistently, An accurate method of calculating the machines output, to have the maximum amount of automation to make my life easier, most importantly an adaptable system that allowed me to accurately dose preservatives in Dry or Wet form.” Richard considered a number of different options, But chose the Wakely 1240 Mobile Crimper & Dry roller.’ “They were the only manufacturer who could guarantee the machine would process all grain types at any moisture content, consistently- The ease of adjustment is a pleasure to work with.”

“Going from Farm to Farm it is essential that I have an accurate reading of the machines output. The through-put calculator deliver this, its semi automated operation saves me from having to make tedious adjustments constantly.” Knowing about Irish summers, the condition of the grain varies greatly, the moisture content varies from 16-35% & colder summers produce smaller grains. These different variations require different preservatives, it hopper is designed to accommodate these preservatives

‘The Wakely Double Hopper system gives me the flexibility to dose the preservatives reliably; the hoppers operate separately from each other, delivering the product directly to the Mixing auger, When I change to wet preservatives, the double hopper system can be removed in 5 Mins, using quick release fittings” Since I bought the machine ive had it easier, and my customer are happy.

Owner of 0830 Electric Mill.

Andrew Hyde is a Grain merchant & Miller, specialzing in Horse & Calf Rations.

“My old roller mill was getting tired. I wanted a larger capacity Machine then my 20” Wakely mill, But with the same Flat rolled sample with minimal dust. Depending on growing conditions the grain size can vary significantly, I wanted to quickly alter the sample. After an onsite installation & chat the customers requirements were clear, A premium sample, Pleasant working environment, Machine capacity of 5-7 Tonnes, an installation frame, Discharge auger & a completed electrical panel.

A specific flute type was chosen to match the customer’s needs, The installation frame was fabricated with forklift skids for ease of movement. A 200mm discharge auger rotating at low Revolutions to preserve the sample was used. “The machines installation went smoothly the forklift skids really helped when the Mill was being mounted, The machines output rating was accurate. I can easily adjust the sample when Rolling Barley, Beans, & Oats with the same premium sample, Dust & noise have dropped significantly since the machines installation, Says Andrew.
